I was traveling and ran out of money on my debit card. Girlfriend suggested we use this app because she had a customer use it and he liked it. So we did and the instant transfer has been down since we did. Then I use a local bank that is not listed in the app approved bank options. So they have my girlfriends money still. I had to call my mommy to help it was embarrassing. Thanks for nothing Venmo

I often grab something at a store for extended family or friends and Venmo eliminates keeping track. “IOU” “u owe me”. Everyone feels comfortable to ask a favor for a small shopping errand.

Best app to pay anyone for anything

Download a couple weeks ago. Couldn’t believe how easy and quick it was to use this app. Then, problems started. Venmo flagged my account for some reason when I tried to send a friend $340. (still to this day they won’t tell me why, other than, ‘violating term agreement’). I did nothing wrong. I literally just tried to send her money. Then, venmo froze my account and froze my friends account. I already had $300 in my venmo. So, $640 is FROZEN in my account and has been for about a week now. Then, I got $1000 sent back to me. So in total there is $1640 of mine ‘up in the air’ now. Called venmo. They told me to email them. Then, venmo wanted my ID to return my funds and ‘unlock’ my account that should have never been locked in the first place. I tried to explain to them that I am on vacation a few states away, I lost my ID on NYE. I can’t get on a plane home now because I have no ID. My money is in my venmo (which is frozen) and I can’t purchase a train/bus ticket back BECAUSE MY REMAINDER OF MY MONEY IS IN VENMO. The email people were nasty towards me, insisting that a lawyer just contact such and such address because there’s ‘nothing they can do about it’ when literally all they have to do IS PUT MY MONEY BACK INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SHOW AN APP AN ID SO THEY CAN GIVE ME BACK MONEY ESPECIALLY WHEN I WONT EVEN BE ABLE TO GET A NEW ID WITHOUT ANY MONEY!!!!!!! WHERE IS THE LOGIC IN THAT?????? Screw this app & the whole company. Thieves. It definitely was too good to be true ?? Do not use unless you want to get screwed over.

Trying to make an important rent payment and it has been unable to go through for hours. Reached out to customer service and the only response is “We are experiencing higher than normal decline rates.” And “ Sorry” not willing at all to help. Very frustrating. DO NOT rely on for important payments because if Venmo is having issues on their end they will not help at all.

The UI for this app is pretty minimalist, and when it comes to where my money has gone and is going, that’s not great. Just trying to find out who I charged rent to and when is a nightmare, there’s no search function at all or tagging system, which would be incredibly helpful and pretty simple. If I could just tag ‘rent’ onto all rent charges then viola, I’m no longer searching for a needle in haystack. Or even select to view transactions with only one person. The options I’m given when charging someone instead of something useful like say, a tagging system, is a selection of emojis and the ability to tag other people. This is pretty crappy since that’s useless outside of being a social media platform

I have a Venmo account that is totally useless. Have a new telephone number it won’t accept. Wants to send access code to old phone number to be sure it’s me, but that phone number is not in service and I could not receive the code. Very frustrating! At this point, I feel the app is TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE!

They just decided that they’d randomly make adjustments to instant transfer which is extremely inconvenient. Especially as an artist when I have money I earned doing commissions is just sitting there for a few days waiting to be transferred.

A nice and easy way to do transactions. Reliable.

Title says it all! It confirms my cc but wont confirm my bank. Sent one payment to my debit card, all others have "not worked."

I used the app almost everyday until recently. They have an error where every transaction i attempt will decline for no reason. I’ve since just deleted everything
