Great, easy way to split costs!
I recently immigrated to the United States and changed my name from Mohammed to Adam Im known to the Iraqi community in the area by my Iraqi name (Mohammed), and to the American community by (Adam). I do have a court order for my name change. The name (Mohammed) is still legal and valid on my Iraqi passport and Iraqi ID. I do maintenance works and I receive funds from people using peer to peer transaction services ( Paypal. Venmo. Cash App). I signed up for 2 accounts on Venmo. One using my Iraqi name and the second using my American new name. Both are legal names. The reason I had to sign up for 2 accounts is that the Iraqi community wouldnt know me if I sign up for one account only (Adam). As they dont know this name. With Paypal, I can add a nickname thats known to other people. I can add a second email thats known to other people. I can add a second phone number thats known to other people. But with Venmo, we dont have this functionality so we have to sign up for two accounts. I was trying to transfer $1200 from my (Adam) account to my (Mohammed) account using Venmo on Jan 2nd. Venmo froze both accounts because they claim I violated their user agreement, and they held my funds for 23 days. You can only communicate with them through emails. They asked for my ID 5 times. It takes them 4 days to respond. Their response is just an automatic message that asks for my ID over and over again. I was in a great need for these funds. I was writing to them every day. But they rarely responded. Finally, after 23 days, they decided to call me. I explained the matter to them and they finally released the funds. Now, I lost a lot because the funds were unjustifiably held as a hostage. I couldve invested them. Even if signing up for two accounts is a violation of their user agreement, there is nothing in that agreement that justifies holding my funds. All they can legally do is to deactivate these accounts, but not to hold my funds for 23 days. Secondly, there is nothing in my acts that indicate a malicious intention to violate their user agreement. I was simply using my legal names. They never gave a warning at sign up. Their agreement never says you should not use your international name. Im looking forward to a compensation from Venmo because of that.

I paid for things with this app. That’s pretty cool. Numbers on a screen can get me food. 10/10
Exactly what I wrote up there. Nothing more to say. Good app. Use it.
Love venmo, thank you.
I don’t like how the keypad to enter your dollar amount is about 1/3 of the screen, while the other 2/3 of the screen serves no purpose while you’re entering the amount. This tiny amount of space allotted for the keypad makes the number keys very small and hard to press. I would prefer the layout to be 50/50 to make it easier to press the number keys.
But I love this app -Joseph Lampkin
Less social media more discretion please
Super easy and efficient way to send and receive payments!!
I am a Bank of America customer, a business owner, and I am online constantly for both of these reasons — what about EVERYONE else though??? I was(and still am) constantly making purchases for, requesting payment from(for many various things), as well as just sending and receiving money with friends, family, and acquaintances — the worst though, thee absolutely most distressing thing — ONLINE BANKING!!! — NOT ANYMORE!! — HELLO VENMO!! — Everyone else(their banks) don’t always have the same abilities as I do(my bank); too many of them actually! When I work I am responsible for my customer service & the highest in quality product, but when it comes to a quick payment directly from their bank account to mine...tic’toc–tic’toc...forever it takes at times for them to figure out how they can set up a way to make payments through their bank — NOT ANYMORE!!! THANK YOU VENMO!!!!! You have saved me (and my customers) in countless ways!!!! - Chad @ #ThisIsArt – #FilmForHope – #CompassPicturesInc
I’m aware it’s up to the banks, but it takes a while for funds to transfer.
So easy to get money to my kids out of town when in need!!
I really appreciate the accessibility of Venmo
Works great and it’s reliable.
Easy & efficient
I’ve been using Venmo for almost 9 months now and I’ve never had an issue with the money is off and deposit it sooner then stayed it. And I see that they’ve now I had it and instantaneous deposit for only $.25 what more could a person ask for in such an easy program. I really love the interesting statements the people make on the reason while the pain someone it’s a lot of fun.
It didn’t start out bad I had done numerous transactions with no problems. One particular purchase was rather expensive as it was 1500 total which was split up in a payment of 1200 and a mother payment of 300. Venmo thought it was a good idea to take 1200 out of my wellsfargo account 2 times and then when I disputed that and they put the one payment of 1200 back a couple days later went ahead and took 1200 out of the other account I had on my profile. I contacted customer support and pretty much told me I out that money. I WILL be taking legal actions when return home from deployment.
Easy to use payment system. Would rather not see others’ transactions though. I restrict mine to private.
