I signed up because this would be the fastest way to send money to a friend who already uses Venmo who just experienced a house fire. The app says it will take two days to process a verification deposit in my account. Since I need to send quicker than that I guess I’ll PayPal her sister to pass it along to her.

Love this app

It’s ok overall but if you use the instant transfer.. You pay .25 cents for instant transfer then they say it takes about 30 Min depending on the speed. That’s not instant. I’ve been waiting for 2 hours for my “instant” transfer now. Where is it? Very misleading. Just use Cash App if you want your money right away.

Won’t help you recover your password after you get a new device even when you use the right phone number. Want to use your checking account? Good luck! They want me to somehow get info on two deposits they made back in 2014!!!! How stupid and UN user friendly can they possibly be?!?!? Every swear word in the book is literally being cast their way right now. Thanks FOR NOTHING!!!

Makes life easier

I love venmo. Its a quick and easy way to pay people when you don’t have cash. Only 1 very major problem for me with the app, you can’t cancel the transfer once you initiate it. I accidentally paid someone I shouldn’t have and i lost my money, please at least allow 10min-1hr to cancel.

I am limiting my use of this app now that they have added a fee for depositing yo my bank account. Bummer because you had a good thing going and now it appears the developers have gotten greedy. I will only use the app for sending and not for recovering payments from now on. And once my circle of friends do the same we will all move back to the banking apps because no one wants to pay a FEE for RECEIVING MONEY!

I just saw a pending transaction of a withdrawal for $100 from the account I set up on this Venmo app. It may be good at first glance. But I guess if they run out of money they try to get yours with the information you put in a while ago

Easy to send and receive money but soooo hard to find people.

Really an easy way to send money when you dont have cash on you (who does nowadays).

Instant transfer not available with no explanation after money was already sent to venmo account. Customer service is no help whatsoever. Would not recommend service. I regret giving myself this headache.

They take your money! I received $500 and they would not let me access it... then I had to open up a ‘compatible’ bank account and debit card... they said the sent the money, however, the bank does not have it, Venmo claims they sent it, but there are no pending transactions at the bank and nobody can tell me where $500 is?! It just evaporated... no trail, no verification l... been almost a week.. Venmo claims it’s on the bank, chase claims they never received funds, so none can tell me where the money is, chase says it’s on them. Countless hours and frustrated mess trying to find the money. Still no answers. I would highly bet Venmo hangs on to the money to show on a bank account to invest and make money on interest... during the interim they hold it and leverage to invest for an interest free loan. I reporting to FBI, then maybe it will all of a sudden pop up. Save yourself! Run! Don’t give these thieves money or your info!

Signed up for venmo when I normally use PayPal or square cash or Apple Pay because I heard good things. Someone sent me 60$ that I needed to use that day so I attempt to withdrawal onto my debit card, rejected, even though my debit card works fine. No message about why it isn’t working so I don’t know how to fix it. Spoke to several representatives and they all said the same thing, that I couldn’t use my debit card and that they couldn’t see why. How am I supposed to figure out a fix if I don’t know the problem? Absolutely ridiculous. I tried sending it to a friend so that they could pull it out and PayPal it to me and it rejects their card too! So after an hour on the phone trying to figure this out I relent and send it to my bank and I’m forced to wait until it can be verified and go through god knows how many channels before I can use it. Everyone said that Venmo is supposedly much faster than any of the other cash apps out their. Simply untrue. This ate up way too much of my day. Deleting and sticking to what works.
