Does Venmo care about your privacy?

Apparently, the Venmo app now requires you upload your entire contact list in order to sign in. I couldn’t find a way around this, and I tried.

This is a huge privacy issue, so I’m now no longer using Venmo.

Google Pay actually works better, and you’re probably already signed in to your Google Account—no more painful Venmo password resets.
