Delaying payments for no reason
Venmo decided out of the blue to “review” a $320 payment that I sent to a friend whom I’ve paid before through the app without a problem. They said I’d have to wait at least 48 hours to investigate this “suspicious” payment so I contacted customer service and asked them to just cancel the transaction because my friend needed the money right away. They refused. I would just have to wait while until they decided when and whether it was appropriate to send MY money to MY friend. And if I paid him on my own, well that was just my problem. Very convenient. What a racket. Closing out my account ASAP. Horrible customer service.
